I had to do something with the extra cupcakes, frosting, and marzipan that I had leftover from Superbowl. So why not go EXTREME opposite and try out some cheesy, gushy, lovey-dovey decorations for Valentine's Day?
I leveled the tops of the cupcakes, put some marshmellow fluff in between as glue and stacked one on top of another, with the tops touching. I made a peachy pinky color frosting to match the heart cupcake "skirt" and used un-colored frosting to make a pearl-like belt to hide the cucpake seam. I topped it off with a chocolate covered marzipan strawberry. The strawberry "seeds" are sparkling sugar and the leaf is the frosting (recognized that turfy color?)
Could it get any sweeter? Um, yes. Oscar came by Valentine's Day morning to deliver this handmade Valentine.
A few minutes later he came back with a "Butter Delivery!" Personally, I don't think it gets better than that. Roses shmoses.
And if you don't think any of that is cute enough... here's some cute overload:
A few snapshots of Molly, my landlord's puppy, who had green paws from spending Valentine's day in the backyard while the whole fam gardened:
LOVE!
