Cole's sister, Madie, just graduated from UCSF and got her Masters in Nursing! Her lovely friends&fam threw her a BBQ in Dahlia Gardens to celebrate. Cole designed a very cool invitation for the BBQ invites and Graduation announcements, with a little graphic inspiration from Etsy (via Vale).
I just piggybacked off the theme and colors to create a BBQ friendly dessert. I made Red Velvet Cupcakes with Cream Cheese Frosting and Vanilla, Vanilla Cupcakes with Chocolate, Peanut Butter Frosting (my own experiment).
Using all my new favorite embossing heat tools from Paper Source, I made Graduation Owl Cupcake Flags with this cute little owl stamp. Cole helped me engineer a sturdy cupcake flag on a toothpick. Secret ingredient: Photo Mount Spray Adhesive.
I picked out some adorable cupcake wrappers from Fancy Flours so the cupcakes would be dressed up nice n perty for the party.
All in all, a lovely day in the park. Good weather, good peeps, good food, and a great reason to celebrate!
And what better way to celebrate than with Fruity Tutti Sangria.
Oh, and Madie's friends and family all chipped in and got her a Hot Orange Beach Cruiser . How fun?
...and Yay for GradCakes.
I think the fan fav was the Red Velvet.
They do look good on my new plate, don't they Mom? (One of the many things I wanted from our recent visit to Painting with Flowers, my mom's long time favorite boutique back in LI.)
